Switzerland Student Visa Requirements

International students (non‑EU/EEA) must apply for a National Visa (Type D) for studies longer than 90 days.

Required Documents

Applicants must prepare the following documents for submission to the Swiss Embassy/Consulate in their country:

  1. Valid passport (minimum 6 months validity)

  2. Completed Swiss visa application form (Type D)

  3. Passport‑size photographs (as per embassy specifications)

  4. Official admission letter from Alpine Swiss Business School

  5. Proof of payment of tuition fees (or deposit confirmation)

  6. Proof of sufficient financial means to cover living expenses in Switzerland

  7. Motivation letter explaining study plans and career goals

  8. Curriculum Vitae (CV)

  9. Academic certificates and transcripts

  10. Proof of accommodation in Switzerland

  11. Health insurance coverage valid in Switzerland

  12. Visa application fee (as required by Swiss authorities)

Embassies may request additional documents depending on nationality.

Visa Processing Time

  • Average processing: 8 to 12 weeks

  • Students are advised to apply at least 3 months before intake

  • Delays are possible during peak admission seasons

Important Visa Notes

  • Visa approval is solely decided by Swiss authorities

  • ASBS provides all institutional documents needed for the application

  • Students must attend an embassy interview if requested

  • Upon arrival in Switzerland, students must register with local authorities within 14 days
